Central are pleased to present the following vacancy for your consideration Our client is a leading provider of support for homeless people in London. The project is a hostel for clients in suffering from complex needs many of them are also rough sleepers. The aim of the project is to support them in building on physical, emotional and practical skills to aid further independent living. Summary of position: Mental Health Project Worker – South London, £25-26k pa, fulltime, permanent Role purpose: To provide a safe and supportive environment in which customers can take opportunities for positive change, build their confidence and make the transition from rough sleeping to sustaining a home. To support those who have complex needs including mental healthsupporting them to access appropriate services, recognising indications that mental health is deteriorating and working jointly with mental health services to provide co-ordinated support. Experience required: MUST HAVE  Atleast one years paid experience of working in a complex needs environment preferably within residential setting.  Experience of working with people who have mental health needs.  Experience of supporting individuals to access mental health services andworking jointly with mental health practitioners.  Experience of occupancy agreements and dealing with voids and rent arrears targets, general housing management experience .  Knowledge of the support needs of verified rough sleepers and how these canbe supported in a hostel environment.  Knowledge of mental health diagnoses and the impact this has for the individual.  Knowledge of treatment services and how to access them.  Knowledge of other support needs that impactmental health for example, substance misuse. Candidates must be able to demonstrate the following skills:  Ability to cope with customers who display challenging behaviour.  Ability to support and motivate colleagues.  Ability to organise and prioritise your work, ensuring you manage your own time and plan your workload to meet deadlines.  Ability to communicate effectively and verbally and in writing, demonstrating a good standard of written and oral English Additional job requirements:  Willingness to work flexibly in response to changing organisational requirements.  Ability to work shifts on a rota basis including early and late shifts, bank holidays and weekends  Computerliterate with competency in Microsoft Office applications.  Ability to work shifts on a rota basis including early and late shifts, bank holidays and weekends You will also need: - A recent CRB (with POVA) - To producereferences covering the last five years. *Please note the above outlined experience is the minimum first stage criteria for this role, we will therefore be unable to consider your application unless you are able to demonstrate a relevant work history in line with thisposition.
