Central are pleased to present the following vacancy for your consideration Our client is a leading provider of support for homeless people in London. The project is a hostel for clients in suffering from complex needs many of them are also rough sleepers. The aim of the project is to support them in building on physical, emotional and practical skills to aid further independent living. Summary of position: Project Worker –South London, £25-26k pa, fulltime, permanent General role purpose: To provide a safe and supportive environment in which customers can take opportunities for positive change, build their confidence and make the transition from rough sleeping to sustaining a home. Experience required: MUST HAVE  Atleats one years paid experience of working in a complex needs environment preferably within residential setting.  Experience of working with people who have complex support needs for example, substance misuse, mental health, offending, risk taking behaviour.  Experience of occupancy agreements and dealing with voids and rent arrears targets.  Knowledge of the support needs of verified rough sleepers and how these can be supported in a hostel environment.  Knowledge of focused interventions forspecific support needs for example drug use, alcohol use and mental health. Candidates must be able to demonstrate the following skills:  Ability to cope with customers who display challenging behaviour.  Ability to manage multiplepriorities and respond proactively to change.  Commitment to customer involvement, and ability to involve customers in all aspects of the running of the project.  Ability to communicate effectively and verbally and in writing, demonstrating a goodstandard of written and oral English, Additional job requirements:  Willingness to work flexibly in response to changing organisational requirements.  The ability to work occasional evenings, and the flexibility to respond tooccasional increases in workload/tight deadlines.  Computer literate with competency in Microsoft Office applications.  Ability to work shifts on a rota basis including early and late shifts, bank holidays and weekends You willalso need: - A recent CRB (with POVA) - To produce references covering the last five years. *Please note the above outlined experience is the minimum first stage criteria for this role, we will therefore be unable to consider your applicationunless you are able to demonstrate a relevant work history in line with this position. Based on the demands of our customers, Central Care can only register candidates eligible to work in the UK, seeking a minimum of 28 hours work weekly and having 4 days per week availabilityfor a duration of 6 months.
